The show, which runs every Friday on NTV, started with a performance from the Kibera Ballerina dance group. It was a good performance. However, there was the technical hitch at the start of the show, which also happened last week. This is disappointing.

Khaligraph then did a song from his new album Testimony 1960 which was released two weeks ago. He then sat down with Amina about a few things.

Amina went no-holds-barred on him. He talked about his new album which has taken a while before it was released. He did not want to talk about his relationship, though,  and Amina did not probe him about that. She questioned about his “arrogance”. And he was gracious enough to give an answer.

Next up was the DJ Bobos, a DJ who became popular after the Twaweza show and is good with his hands.  He built his own DJ decks. He talked about his work and how he built the decks.

Amina always does good human interest stories but this one caught my eye because she offered to pay his fee in DJ school and gave him a chance to do two 10-minute sets on the show to prove his ability and prowess.

Ziki also came into the show and performed one of his songs and talked to Amina about his career. Ziki has not been in the country in a while and the first thing they did was to talk about was his new locks — which are a bit different. She asked him about leaving Main Swtich productions and his stay in the USA and his new joint with Tarrus Riley.

He talked about his stay in Jamaica and how he landed a collabo with him. He explained he had taken a break from music to find himself and his sound.

The show then had an impromptu fashion show from the Moj Courture and the House of Brian show who were showing their new clothes. Amina then indulged Brian Roberts and Roselyn Oganga. They had the most interesting conversation on Kenyan fashion industry. On the discussion was Brian and Rose’s careers as models and their transition and whether they miss doing modelling.

My rating

The show was good and I would rate the show at 8.5/10. I don’t really like those technical hitches and they are pissing me off a bit. They need to fix them to avoid having a hanging show.
