Actor Jamal Nasoor, commonly referred to as Baba Junior, is dead. Preliminary reports say the actor was stabbed to death.
Police launched an investigation into his death.
Jamal has been in the acting industry for a while and started his illustrious career in theatre then proceeded to TV.
He will be remembered for his roles in comedy shows like Vioja Mahakamani where he played the role of a ruthless judge.
In the comedy show ‘Junior’ on KTN, he played Baba Junior, while on the revamped Auntie Boss show on NTV he played Baba Prince. So good was he that in the 2017 edition of the Kalasha Awards, he won the title of best actor in a TV comedy.
It is a big blow to the Kenyan acting scene and will be greatly missed by his fans. He passed on at the age of 39.
KTN’s managing director sent his condolences shortly after receiving the news.
“He was a versatile actor and previously starred in the ‘Junior’ TV series, playing the role of Baba Junior. Our prayers go out to his family and friends at this difficult moment,” he said in an article published by Standard.
